Covenant University is holding her 1st International Conference on African Development Issues (CU-ICADI) between the 5th and 6th of May 2014 at African Leadership Development Centre, Covenant University, Ota. The University has secured the consent of, and agreement with two Nobel Prize Winners in Economics namely Professor Eric S. Maskin of Harvard University and Professor Thomas J. Sargent of New York University as lead speakers for the Conference.
The Theme of the Conference is “Rising Opportunity for Investors in Africa and the Prospect of an Economic Miracle”. Confirmed panelists in this two-day conference include: Prof. Jonathan Leape (London School of Economics); Dr. Sarah Alade (Acting Governor of CBN); Dr Kalu Idika Kalu (Former Minister of Finance), Dr. B. Okogu (Director-General, Budget Office Abuja); Mr A. I. Aig-Imoukhuede (former G.M.D/CEO, Access Bank Plc Nigeria); Prof. John Ifediora (University of Wisconsin-Platteville, U.S.A.); Prof. K Adeyemi (Covenant University, Ota), Prof. Ade Oyejide (University of Ibadan); and Prof. Olu. Ajakaiye (African Centre for Shared Dev. Capacity Building).
This Conference is a novel and unparalleled feat which Covenant University is championing by bringing together renowned professionals, academics, policy makers and industrialists that will create awareness and develop critical mass that is aimed at engendering sustainable development in Africa.
The target audience for the Conference include Board Chairmen, Managing Directors/Chief Executives of Companies/Government Establishments, Directors, General Managers, and those in the policy formulation positions in Companies/Government establishments. The University hereby solicits the participation of your reputable organization to sponsor as many of your staff as possible.
Some expected benefits of participation include:

Conference participation fee is N250,000 for participants resident in Nigeria, and US$1,500 for international participants. This fee covers conference kits, tea breaks and group lunch for the conference duration as well as dinner at the end of the conference. The fee excludes accommodation charges. The Covenant University Guest House and other decent hotels around the Conference venue are being booked for this event. Interested participants should indicate intentions as early as possible.
For ease of access to Covenant University, transportation services from the Airport to and from the Conference venue by bus and helicopter services are being arranged at moderate charges for interested participants.
