The College has begun to generate positive impact in the external context. Some of the students have won several outstanding prizes and awards in major competitions, some of which include the Stock Exchange Essay Competition and the Accounting professional examination in Nigeria. Our students are also raised to be bold, inquisitive and enterprising in their chosen fields.

Staff strength rose considerably to complement the increasing population of students. For instance in the current session, the staff structure consists of one hundred and thirty eight (138) tenured faculty. Of these (16) are of the professorial cadre, (2) in the Associate Professor category, (15) in Senior lectureship status, twenty six (26) in Lecturer grade I level, fifty five (55) in Lecturer grade II level, fifty one (51) in Assistant lectureship position, and nine ( 9) Graduate Assistants. Also there are thirty (30) non teaching staff.

All academic staff in the college without the Ph.D degree are currently pursuing their doctorate programmes under the University Staff Development Scheme. To date, the College through the scheme has graduated Ph.D candidates in virtually all our programmes, including Public Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurialship, Marketing and Accounting. Others include Sociology, Counseling, Psychology, and Mass Communication. The Postgraduate programme is totally funded by the university. Also as part of the capacity building initiatives of the University, members of faculty are opportune to attend and participate in local and international academic and professional conferences and other similar engagements. These have helped to raise standard of teaching and research in the College.
