CU Hosts Nigerian Turkish Nile University
A team from the Nigerian Turkish Nile University, Abuja, paid a courtesy visit to the Management of Covenant University (CU), on Friday, May 1, 2015.
The team, which was made up of the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Kamil Kemanci, and the institution’s Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Nuradeen L. Tanko, were received in the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room in Canaan Land, Ota.
While stating the reason for their visit, the leader of the team, Mr. Kemanci stated that they were very impressed by the architecture and scenery of the university and would love to visit more often. He explained that having heard a lot of great things happening in Covenant University, the Nigerian Turkish Nile University would very much like to partner with the institution in the area of teaching or research.
Mr. Kemanci congratulated the Management of Covenant University for achieving the great feat of becoming number 1, in Nigeria, number 1 in West Africa and falling within the first 5% range in the world at the recent Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, CU, Professor Charles Ayo, expressed his appreciation for their visit and stated that the Covenant University Management would not mind partnering with the Nigerian Turkish Nile University in any capacity that would make for the mutual benefit of the two institutions.
He further stated, “In our bid to achieve our goals towards the realization of our vision of becoming one of the best ten universities in the world by year 2022, we welcome partnerships that have the potentials to move us in that direction.”
Also at the meeting were the Deputy Dean, School of Chemical & Petroleum Engineering, Professor Ogbemi Omatete and a member of the Directorate of Media and Corporate Affairs.
