A team from New Horizons Systems Solutions Limited was in Covenant University, on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, for the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties.

In his statement of purpose, the leader of the team, who is also the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Timothy Akano, said, “New Horizons is a Systems Solutions Company which has extensive international experience in training, advising, designing, providing, developing and improving knowledge in computer and Information Communication Technology (ICT), amongst its core competencies. The MoU, therefore, covers the design and development of a curriculum that would lead to the award of International Certifications.”

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Ayo stated, “The University, in pursuance of its curriculum in ensuring that her students have in-depth knowledge in Computer and Information Communication Technology (ICT), has agreed that New Horizons should design and develop a curriculum leading to the award of International Certifications.”

He pointed out that the University had recently improved on her operations and as a result, there would have to be some adjustments to the MoU document before execution.

While making his remarks, the Registrar, Dr. Olumuyiwa Oludayo appreciated the team for the partnership initiative and welcomed them to the meeting. He expressed optimism that the initiative would work for the benefit of both institutions.

Also present at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Taiwo Abioye; the HOD, Computer and Information Sciences, as well as the Coordinator, CU/New-Horizon ICT Training, Dr. Ayodele Adebiyi; a member of the legal team, Mrs. Justina Osayande and a member of the Directorate of Media and Corporate Affairs.
