Covenant University received a team from Microsoft Nigeria’s IT Academy on Friday, November 26, 2015, as a follow up to previous discussions with the organization on a complete technology education solution; connecting students, teachers, employers and local communities through leading-edge technical skill development.

The leader of the team, Mr. Patrick Onwumere, in his presentation, stated that the goal of Microsoft Nigeria was to build prepared students, successful schools and strengthened communities by providing industry-leading training, resources and Microsoft Certifications to enhance college readiness and employability and to encourage life-long learning.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Director, 10:2022, Professor Christian Bolu, appreciated the promptness of the Microsoft team in organising a formal presentation and assured them that the University would like to partner with them, not only in the area of student training, but staff development as well. He stated that the management of the University would deliberate on the proposal and communicate a date for another meeting in order to properly situate the collaboration terms between the two parties.

Present at the meeting were the Dean, College of Engineering, Professor Samuel John; the Dean, College of Science and Technology, Professor Nicholas Omoregbe; the HOD, Computer and Information Sciences, Dr. Ayodele Adebiyi; the Coordinator, QAAS, Mrs. Mary Aboyade and members of the Directorate of Media and Corporate Affairs.
