Covenant University in another historic outing hosted, between September 10 and 13, 2012, the 11thAnnual Conference of the Fulbright Alumni Association of Nigeria (FAAN)

The theme of Conference theme was Multiculturalism, Citizenship and National Integration in Nigeria: Challenges and Prospects.

The Opening Ceremony was graced by dignitaries including the Public Affairs Officer of the US Embassy, Mrs Rhonda Watson who represented the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Terrence McCulley and also chaired the special Roundtable on National Security and the Future of Democracy in Nigeria. Other notable personalities at the event were Chairman of Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, the representative of the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun among others.

About 38 participants from across Nigerian universities attended the conference.

FAAN is an 11 year-old association of over 3000 Fulbright and other United States-trained scholars and professionals in Nigeria. Covenant University joined the elite league of Nigerian Fulbrighters in 2006/07 and is indeed the first private university among the 23 members of institutions listed by the Fulbright Commission. The University has, to date, 12 members of the FAAN as Fulbright and State Alumni.
