Covenant University’s College of Engineering (CoE) will soon become one of the few SOLIDWORKS Academy Certification Providers in Nigeria.

This was made known by the Dean of the College, Professor John Ndueso on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the opening ceremony of the College of Engineering Train the Trainer Course on Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA).

Professor Ndueso noted that as a SOLIDWORKS Certification provider, the college and by extention, the University would offer the CSWA-Academic Examination in a proctored environment. He highlighted the benefits of the training to the participants, their students and the University.

“As a certified SOLIDWORKS Associate, faculty and staff will be able to demonstrate their expertise with SOLIDWORKS 3D Solid modeling Software, design concepts, and sustainable design, giving them a competitive edge in today’s engineering design job market. The CSWA Academic Certification will be a proof of your SOLIDWORKS expertise with cutting-edge skills that businesses seek out and reward.

“Our students will benefit from your training particularly in Computer Aided Design and Engineering Graphics Courses both at the college and departmental levels. Your training will also assist in our drive for Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and income,” he explained.

The Dean advised the participants which comprised faculty and staff from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Information Engineering to take full advantage of the training.

The eight-day training and examination will feature hands-on challenges in many of the engineering design and analysis. It was organized by the College in collaboration with Coscharis Technologies.
