Campus Sneak Africa Visits Covenant University

 

A team from ‘Campus Sneak Africa,’ an outfit that surfs and showcases universities of excellence and beauty across the continent of Africa and beyond, paid a courtesy visit to the Management of Covenant University on Monday, November 9, 2015.

The leader of the team, Mr. Jazzyb Adebayo Adesoji, a Nigerian living in Randburg, South Africa, stated that the purpose of their work involves showcasing institutions of excellence wherever they find them. He stated that Campus Sneak Africa projects the everyday student life ‘on and off’ campus on ‘Loveworld Southern Africa TV,’ which broadcasts to millions of people every month.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Ayo, addressed the team stating that the University Management was delighted by their visit. He noted that the organisation seems to have an impressive list of universities they have visited already. The Vice-Chancellor explained to them that Covenant University was a new generation university, committed to raising outstanding leaders in all spheres of human endeavour.

He also invited the team to the University’s next International Conference on African Development Issues (ICADI), holding in May 2016. “ICADI is a major international conference where we invite Noble laureates to speak on developmental issues,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.

Earlier in his remarks, the Registrar welcomed the guests on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor; stating that Covenant University is a great university committed to becoming one of the top ten universities in the world by 2022. “I believe your coming here today will assist to project what we are doing.”

The team was taken on a tour of the major establishments on campus afterwards.

Present at the occasion were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Taiwo Abioye; the Director, Centre for Learning Resources, Dr, Christopher Nkiko; the Director, Financial Services, Pastor Bayo Oladehinbo; the Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Zaccheaus Omogbadegun; the Director, Physical Planning and Development, Pastor Azubuike Nwoke; the Director, Covenant University Centre for Research, Innovation and Discovery, Professor Samuel Wara; the Director, Vision 10:2022, Professor Charles Bolu; the Director, Academic Planning Unit, Dr. Olawande Daramola; the Director, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Dr. Akan Williams; the Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Development Studies, Dr. Adegbuyi; Mr. Stephen Oluwatobi, of Vice-Chancellor’s Office, and members of the Directorate of Media and Corporate Affairs.
