The newly admitted students have been urged to optimize the opportunity to study in Covenant University.

This call was made by the Chancellor, Covenant University, Dr. David Oyedepo, at the Opening Assembly to formally receive them into the University on Monday, August 11, 2014. According to him, coming to Covenant University is an opportunity granted to them by God to see what they would make out of it, and as such they should adhere to the Core Values which guarantee a hitch-free stay at the University.

Dr. Oyedepo introduced to the students the Core Values of Spirituality, Possibility Mentality, Capacity Building, Integrity, Responsibility, Diligence and Sacrifice.

He stated that the University is saddled with the responsibility of raising a new generation who will do things the way they ought to be done and who will not defile themselves with the “king’s meat”. He stated further that skill can take a man to the top but it is only character that will keep him there.

The Chancellor enjoined the students to make the most of their time, so that they can make the most of their lives.

In his remarks the Registrar, Dr. Muyiwa Oludayo, welcomed and congratulated the Kings and Queens to Hebron, and introduced them to the members of Management and Heads of Departments.

While addressing the students, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor C.K. Ayo, highlighted three key issues that will make their stay a successful one in the University. These include proper preparation, obedience to rules and keeping the right company. He stated that the University is committed to raising a new generation of leaders; therefore, spirituality is driven with tenacity.
