Civil Engineering Students tasked to make use of new application software
Staff and students of the Department of Civil Engineering have been enlightened on the use of new developed application software for better supervision and monitoring of building constructions in project management. This was done at a departmental seminar held at the Department of Civil Engineering Conference Room.
The guest speaker, Dr. (Engr) Ojoko Kayode, in his presentation titled “Development and Application of Software in Civil Engineering Projects” said that due to the large involvement of construction works in project management, the use of this application of new software helps in monitoring results obtained and makes it free of human errors.
Dr. Ojoko further added that the development of this application software is flexible to adopt for problem solving in the designs of infrastructure. It is also suitable for office practice.
In his words, “Project management involves large construction of engineering works, and the adoption of this new developed application software in Civil Engineering projects, helps in providing solutions to challenges and modifying programmes that suit office practice”.
He urged the students of the department to always keep themselves abreast of and understand the operation of new application software in the field.
The Head of Department, Civil Engineering, Dr Ogbiye Adebanji, stated that the main aim of the seminar was to help students of the department to get ready for field work, stressing the need to know what the world entails.
