Covenant University, Airtel Nigeria signs MoU
Covenant University and Airtel Nigeria on Friday, February 12, 2016, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a view to consolidate on the existing partnership between both parties.
The MoU will also cover specific areas which include the provision of expert technical advice as may be required and ensure that all equipment, materials and workmanship are of highest professional quality. Other areas of interest in the Memorandum is collaboration between the parties on joint community development projects periodically as may be agreed upon.
At the brief event which took place at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference room, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Taiwo Abioye, expressed optimism that the services on campus would improve and desired that the change would be of equal benefit to both parties. She also requested the service provider to partner with the University in its industry partnership drive.
The Airtel Nigeria team leader and Commercial Regional Head, Mr Charles Bassey, stated that by the MoU, “Airtel is coming closer to the University and with this synergetic partnership; we want to ensure that service is at its best within the Campus and consolidate on what we already have. We are tied to whatever we are signing today,” he said.
In a remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Ayo, expressed optimism that the association would flourish. He enjoined Airtel to ensure that the services provided meet the needs of the University community.
Also present at the ceremony were the Registrar, Pastor Olamide Olusegun; Director, Financial Services, Pastor Bayo Oladehinbo; Dean, Students’ Affairs, Dr. Zacchaeus Omogbadegun; Sub-Dean, Students’ Affairs, Mrs Victoria Adeoye and Legal Officer, Mrs Faith Lawani.
