Covenant University Celebrates 12th Founder’s Day
Faculty, staff and students of Covenant University have been urged to do the impossible, dare the undarable and create solutions to existing problems. This was the message of the Chancellor, Covenant University, Dr. David Oyedepo at the 12th Founder’s Day Service on Tuesday, October 21, 2014
The Chancellor stated further that nothing defines destiny like mentality. “It is possibility mentality that makes a star” he said. He also enjoined everyone to embrace the Core Value of Possibility Mentality in order to maximize the potentials God has deposited in them, adding that the essence of possibility mentality was to deliver one’s mind from slavery.
Dr. Oyedepo advised the University Community to engage the equal virtues of opportunity and destiny. “When you concentrate on what you need, you become a slave to those who create it. Everyone should be conscious of his or her ability to create solutions”, he said.
He also highlighted commitment as a key factor in making the most of one’s life. According to him, there is no problem without a solution and that is the essence of Covenant University.
The Chancellor attributed his success in life to early discovery. He, therefore, encouraged the assembly to discover and believe in themselves. “Discover and deliver yourself”, he said.
The Registrar, Covenant University, Dr. Olumuyiwa Oludayo, earlier in his welcome remarks stated that the purpose of the celebration was to glorify God, acknowledge His faithfulness and renew the vision of raising a new generation of leaders.
