A marketing team from GistMate Communications Ltd, made a presentation tagged ‘Strategic Partnership on Digital Marketing Training’ to the Covenant University management this week at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room in Canaanland Ota, Ogun State.

While making the introductions at the event, the Registrar of Covenant University, Mr. Olumuyiwa Oludayo stated, “Covenant University is most delighted to have you here, particularly with regards to our need for strategic partnership with other organizations in order to drive the fulfilment of our target of becoming one of the ten top Universities in the world, in ten years.”

In his opening remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, Professor Charles Korede Ayo welcomed the team from Gistmate Ltd, and commended their desire to partner with CU on digital marketing.

While introducing his team, Mr. Ayo Oyebade, the General Manager Gistmate Ltd, thanked the Covenant University management for granting them the opportunity to make a formal presentation of their proposal for partnership with CU on Digital Marketing Training.

During his presentation, he stated that their aim is to introduce and teach participants how to fast-track their business goal by understanding and maximizing the unlimited potentials of digital marketing.

He further stated that the training, which is open to anybody with an idea, skill, trade or business, and is looking for platform for expansion, will cover areas like, ‘Intro to Digital Marketing (IDM),’‘Social Media Management (SMM),’ ‘Basic Website Management (BWM),’ and ‘Basics of Online Entrepreneurship (BOE).’

Mr. Oyebade explained that the course will empower participants to be employers of labour, while giving them an opportunity to start their business with minimum capital, as it is possible for trained participants to start and operate radio stations or online magazines from their bedroom.

“The Social Media platform is another huge area to watch out for as the training empowers participants with skills to help them maximize platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc., and make money from them.” He opined.

Making her closing remarks at the event, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration of Covenant University, Professor Taiwo Abioye, commended the presentation by the Gistmate team, and assured them that CU would be glad to partner with them to the benefit of both parties.

The DVC however expressed her concern about the cost of participation pegged on the course by Gistmate Ltd, especially as it relates to Covenant University students and encouraged the Gistmate team to streamline the course in a way that it would include the students without giving them much financial burden.

Others in attendance were: Director, Covenant University Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CUEDS), Dr. Chinenye Moses; HOD, Department of Business Management, Dr. Samson Ibidunni and members of the Corporate and Public Affairs Department.
