The Management of Covenant University received the officials of New Horizon on Friday January 18, 2013.

The Chief Executive Officer of New Horizon, Mr. Tim Akano who led the team stated that the purpose of their visit was to introduce Step Change through the use of Unified Educational Learning Solution.

He disclosed that thousands of Nigerian Corporate Executives desire to have a feel of what makes Covenant University Education renown in Africa and in the World.He stressed that theydo not have the opportunity due to lack of modern technological infrastructure. He emphasized that there is need to introduce cutting-edge ICT facilities in achieving this purpose.

According to the CEO New Horizons, an assessment engine as well as a smart slate device are required as technological infrastructure necessary in facilitating cutting-edge ICT delivery. The smart slate will be customized specifically for the University. Its features according to him include, capacity to generatereport on who is studying or not, provision of statistics on all students and ability to e-mail same directly to the parents or guardian on weekly basis. Other features include students’ evaluation of Lecturers after every class forimproved academic excellence, anti-plagiarism (against term paper/ project/thesis), customized learning solution, integrated E-commerce module, automatic e-mail notification, tracking capability among others.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor C.K Ayo in his response stated that the organization has over the years been a reliable partner of the University and the University would not hesitate to consider the new ideas introduced.

Other key officers of the University at the meeting include the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Admin) Dr T. O.Abioye; Director, Centre for Systems and Information Services, Engr. B.Ajala; Director, Academic Planning Unit Dr. C.Uhuegbu; Head of Department, Computer and Information Sciences and Chairman, ICT Committee,Dr. N.Ikhu-Omoregbe as well as Dr.AriyoAdebiyi.
