Covenant University holds 7th Convocation Ceremony
Friday, June 29, 2012 will be the grand finale of the activities marking the Covenant University’s 7th Convocation Ceremony, as First and Higher Degrees would be awarded to the graduating students
The event slated for 9am will take place at the University’s Chapel where the Vice-President (Africa), the World Bank, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili is expected to deliver the Keynote Address.
The Chancellor, Dr David Oyedepo and other Principal Officers, will be on hand to present the awards at the ceremony, while dignitaries from all walks of life, as well as parents and guardians of the graduating students, are expected to grace the occasion.
According to the programme of activities released by the 2012 Convocation Planning Committee (CPC), this year’s Commencement event will however begin with a Special Convocation Assembly on Tuesday 26, 2012 where prayers and praises would be offered to God and the week declared opened by the Chancellor.
Other activities lined-up for the day include the Exhibition of the University’s inventions, Hooding Event for School of Postgraduate Studies and Special Gospel Concert/ Variety Night.
On Wednesday, June 27, the Chancellor will address a World Press Conference on the State of the University while a special Convocation Service will be held in the evening. The Convocation Lecture, Cocktail and College hooding events and special prizes and awards is slated for Thursday June 28, 2012.
This year’s Convocation Ceremony promises to be a great event as it is coming in the year when the university turns 10 years. The graduating students have tagged themselves as “The Perfect Set”, this convocation Ceremony is the 7th and the number seven in scriptural parlance represents perfection!
