Covenant University shows Supremacy in Sports
In a bid to promote capacity building through sports, Covenant University Sports Team has showed supremacy over Crawford University in the sporting events, held at the Covenant University Sports Complex.
After a wonderful display by the players, the coach of the Covenant University Team, Coach John Obogo, stated that the competition was a welcomed development to the university, adding that its main objective was to enhance capacity building and possibility mentality.
According to him, “It promotes unity, giving an avenue for the students to interact. Most importantly, capacity building is achieved through this process.
“We the Sports Team possess possibly mentality to win any competition we partake in, thereby making the University proud,” he added.
Meanwhile, in the spirit of sportsmanship, the Crawford University Coach, Coach Henry Flewor, said that his team’s participation in the competition was to allow Crawford University students to be fit.
“We don’t see sports as a competition; we engage in sports to allow our students to be fit and healthy and a have sound mind.” said Coach Flewor.
The results of the competition showed that Covenant University defeated Crawford University 2-0 in Badminton (male’s singles), in Basketball 90-46, in Table Tennis (male’s single) 2-0 in Football (Female Category) 2-0 and in the Male’s category 2-1.
