Covenant University to Hold 43rd Public Lecture

The 43rd Public Lecture in Covenant University’s Public Lecture series will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the University Chapel.

The lecture, titled, “Global Software Development: Challenges and Opportunities in Nigeria” will be delivered by an astute scholar and professor of computer engineering, Professor Sanjay Misra.

Professor Misra is a software engineer of Indian origin. He obtained a Master of Technology in Software Engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India and a PhD from the University of Allahabad, India.

His research interests cover the areas of software quality, software measurement, software metrics, software process improvement, and software project management.

Professor Misra has authored more than 170 papers, the majority of which appear in Institute for Scientific Information- ISI Web of Science. He is also the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of a book series titled, “Advances in IT: Personal and Project Management” (IGI Global).

Presently, he is the EIC of the International Journal of Physical Sciences and Covenant University’s Journal of ICT. He also founded the International Journal of Computer Science and Software Technology (IJCSST) and he is serving as the editor. He is also associate editor and on the editorial board of several journals of international repute.

Professor Misra was awarded in 2014, the Institute of Engineering and Telecommunication Software Premium’s Award for the Best Publication in the last two years.

He has delivered keynote addresses in several international conferences including Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Elsevier sponsored conferences. He was also the General Chair of 2014 IEEE International Conference on Adaptive Science and Technology.

The 43rd Public Lecture will be chaired by the Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Regents of the University, Dr David Oyedepo while the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Ayo, is the Host. ICT experts, academics and other professionals in the ICT and communication sectors will be in attendance at the event.
