Dr Ikpefan Bags Accounting Fellowship
Its another feather in the cap of Covenant University as Dr. Ailemen Ikpefan, Head, Department of Banking and Finance become a of the Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) during its 13th Conferment of Fellowship Status Ceremony, which held at the ICAN Centre, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
The ceremony which took place on the 22nd of April, 2015 witnessed a roll call of the captains of the financial industry in Nigeria, with 277 members being conferred with the fellowship of the.
While declaring ceremony open, the Golden Jubilee President, ICAN, Mr. Chidi Ajaegbu, observed that the 13th set of honourees were found to be compliant with the global practice and ethics of the accounting practice, hence the conferment on them the Fellowship, which is the highest in the institute but nevertheless, he implored that they must not rest on their oars but they must continue to show more commitment to upholding of the core-values of the institute.
He also emphasized the need for the awardees to continue to keep the flag of the profession flying as outstanding men and women who must not relent in their efforts. He advised them to keep working assiduously for the development of the institute, their country Nigeria and Africa as a whole, since the conferment of the fellowship on them is to ginger them to do more and drive the profession to a higher peak.
Dr Ikpefan and other honorees were later decorated by the President of the Institute, Mr. Ajaegbu, with the Fellowship Lapel pin, and were also given the Certificate endorsing their new status as Fellows Chartered Accountant of Nigeria. He was joined by his wife and one of his former students, Miss Adeife Ifeoluwa, a 2013 (Renaissance set) and other well-wishers at the ceremony.
