Information solutions provider, Elsevier, has expressed satisfaction with the way its relationship with Covenant University was shaping up.

Head, Customer Consultant and Research Solutions Sales, Elsevier, Mr. Muhamed Gaafar, made this known on Thursday, February 16, 2017, during a courtesy visit to the CU Management.

Mr. Gaafar, who was accompanied by a Country Representative of the company, Mr. Ibrahim Usman, appreciated the University management for a rewarding partnership opportunity.

Elsevier’s interaction with the University, he said, has been greatly impactful, while assuring that the two journals of Elsevier, ‘Scopus’ and ‘ScienceDirect’ and a reference manager, ‘Mendeley’, have not depreciated in any way.

“Rather, they still maintain the quality they are known for and have even increased in volume, which would be an added value to the University,” said Mr. Gaafar.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Covenant University, Professor AAA. Atayero, welcomed the team and expressed his satisfaction with the quality of service rendered by Elsevier so far.

Prof. Atayero stated that the University management would take time to look into the new terms of partnership so as to take viable decisions.

As part of the schedule of their visit, the Elsevier representatives embarked on the training of the University’s faculty, staff and graduate students, with the purpose of fostering more effective research capabilities and information retrieval techniques, in order to boost teaching and research output and position the University towards faster progression to the fulfillment of Vision 10:2022.

Also at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shalom Chinedu; Registrar, Mrs. Mary Aboyade; Director, Financial Services, Pastor Bayo Oladehinbo; Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Samuel Wara; and the Deputy Director, Media and Corporate Affairs, Mr. Emmanuel Igban.
