Vice-Chancellor continues strategic visit to Schools
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles K. Ayo, alongside other members of Management, continued his strategic visits to the School of Engineering on Thursday, January 16, 2014.
At the School of Engineering, the Deputy Dean, Dr. Agboje commended the management of the University for the quality service rendered and the good environment provided which enhance and encourage the performance of the department and help in the good upbringing of the students.
Also corroborating the Deputy Dean, the Head of Chemical Engineering Department, Dr. David Orodu appreciated the management for organising a training session for the technologists in the department.
Dr. Agboje enumerated their achievements which include producing outstanding results and the best student in the last convocation, receiving presidential scholarships, collaboration with Nigerian Air Force and other institutions on projects among others.
Representatives of various departments in the School of Engineering brought to fore their challenges which include lack of well equipped research laboratories, classrooms, faculty, basic office and classroom equipment, internet service and video system for large classes.
In his remarks, the Registrar, Mr Olumuyiwa Oludayo, enjoined the staff and faculty to explore the office of the Corporate and Public Affairs in order to give mileage to the service they render.
Also speaking, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof Taiwo Abioye appreciated the staff and faculty members’ input in raising a new generation of leaders.
She advised faculty and staff to be more committed to their primary assignment and the in-loco-parentis role.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles K. Ayo assured the leadership of the school that positive steps would be taken towards their needs.
