Covenant University’s vision of being one of the top 10 universities in the world by the year 2022 was a prophetic agenda and the vision is a done deal because God specializes in things that have never happened, the Chancellor and Chairman Board of Regents of the University, Dr. David O. Oyedepo, has said.

The Chancellor made the declaration on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, on the opening day of activities at the Covenant University Executive Advance, an annual programme designed to equip faculty and senior non-teaching staff for a new academic session.

Speaking on the topic titled, ‘Vision 10:2022: Keys to Activating and Actualising a Prophetic Agenda’, Dr. Oyedepo said that prophecies are not metaphysical permutations, not scientific assertions, and do not have limits, rather prophecies are established verdicts and God is behind every genuine prophetic agenda.

Highlighting the wonderful works done by God in the life of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, the proprietors of the University, he said that many of the outstanding feats recorded by the Ministry had the miraculous touch of God. These include the building of the Faith Tabernacle, construction of the University and collection of its operating license, setting up the printing press, procurement of aircraft, and global spread of the Ministry among others.

“We didn’t build this University, it was the hand of God at work. It is the hand of God that delivers prophetic agenda when people involved believes in it. Vision 10:2022 is a done deal because God said so. The vision is not a management board agenda, not my agenda, it is God’s. Prophecies carry within them in-built capacity for fulfillment,” the Chancellor explained.

Distinguishing between human capacity and God’s prophecy, Dr. Oyedepo said that God speaks according to His resources not according to human inadequacies and God speaks according to His integrity. “Somebody says it would take 500 years to emerge as a world-class university. But when God steps in it is within the twinkle of an eye. God specializes in things that have never happened; our job is to get it done,” he added.

Dr. Oyedepo said that people can see prophecy by immersing themselves in it, take heed of their part of the deal, make required moves, engage in spiritual warfare, and expect to see prophecies fulfilled.

Earlier on, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor AAA. Atayero, had remarked that the University started running the second leg of Vision 10:2022 at the beginning of the last academic session, using the ReCITe Agenda, meaning: Research is our responsibility, Citation and Innovation leading to income, and Teaching is our goal.

The first year of his administration, he said, focused on Research, which led to the harvest of numerous exploits. “In the second year, we are expanding the success of research by moving to the next phase, which is ‘Research, Citation and Research Impact’,” he said.
