Summary of Profile

Ibukun Beecroft is a Doctoral Student, an Assistant Lecturer and ardent Researcher in the Department of Economics and Development Studies, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. She holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Covenant University and an M.Sc. in Finance and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, United Kingdom. Before joining Covenant University, she worked with the Office for National Statistics, London, United Kingdom as well as with Zenith International Bank Plc., Lagos, Nigeria. She has won various research and travel grants to conduct economic research, some of which include: More Trade, More Protection: Insights and Implications of the Unending Contradiction, 2012 (co-authored with two others), which was funded by the Centre for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR), United Kingdom, in collaboration with Global Trade Alert (GTA) and the African Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET); UNU-WIDER Conference on L2C-Learning to Compete: Industrial Development and Policy in Africa, Helsinki, Finland, 2013. Her research (co-authored with two others) also won first place in the FLACSO-WTO Chairs Award, 2012. She is currently a reviewer for the Journal of Environment, Development and Sustainability, an international journal. Her main teaching areas are Mathematical Economics, Applied Statistics, Introductory Econometrics and Introductory Microeconomics. Her research interests include Public Finance, International Economies and Economic Development. She has participated in conferences and workshops within and outside Nigeria.
