Mr. J.O. Popoola is an Assistant Lecturer in the Applied Biology and Biotechnology Unit of the Department of Biological sciences.
Research Interests: Plant Genetic Resources Characterization, Biodiversity studies, Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics.
Mr. Popoola had research experience at the Genetic Resources Center of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan, and was an active member of the International Association of Research Scholars and Fellows (IARSAF) of the Institute.
His current research focus includes; molecular characterization of African Yam Bean (an underutilized legume), Ethnobotany, Genetic diversity and In vitro studies of Moringa oleifera Lam in Nigeria. Others include characterization of indigenous medicinal plants.
