Summary of Profile
My research is focused on understanding the roles of the interaction of gene and environmental factors, including nutrients and xenobiotics in the development and outcome of disease. At present, I am investigating the role of gene-nutrient interaction in the aetiology of non-communicable diseases, particularly cancer, in blacks. I am studying this interaction using a cocktail of genomics, molecular and bioinformatics tools.
It is my hope that my studies will contribute to reducing the burden and disparity of non-communicable diseases among Africans.
