Covenant Produces 50% of Top 10 Authors Globally in Compressive strength; Concretes; Cements
God’s own University, Covenant, has continued to assert her reputation in the field of research, with recent computation by SciVal revealing that 50% of top 10 authors globally in the topic ‘Compressive strength; Concretes; Cements’ are from Covenant.
It was interesting to note that the top three (3) authors in the top 10 list were from the Department of Civil Engineering, Covenant. These were Dr Anthony Ede (No.1), Dr Gideon Bamigboye (No.2), and Dr Oluwarotimi Olofinnade (No. 3). The other two were Dr Opeyemi Joshua (No.9) and Dr Ayodeji Ogunde (No.10), both from the Department of Building Technology.
According to SciVal, a bibliometric tool that uses Scopus data to analyse the research performance of individuals or groups, the computation in the topic spanning the period between 2014 and 2019 showed that Dr Ede, a Covenant Chancellor’s Exceptional Researcher (2019), led the way with 11 scholarly output, 150 views count, and 3.12 field weighted citation impact. His research interests focus on Structures and Innovative Construction Materials.
Next was Dr Bamigboye, with 7 scholarly output, 97 views count, and 3.99 field weighted impact. Innovative Construction materials, Environmental Sustainability and Concrete infrastructure are some of his research interests; while Dr Olofinnade, whose research interests focuses on Sustainable Building and Construction Materials, Structural Analysis, had 7 scholarly output, 92 views count, and 3.51 field weighted citation impact.
Dr. Joshua, who was credited with 4 scholarly output, 60 views count, and 1.17 field weighted citation impact has Development of locally cost optimized alternative building and construction material; Building failure forensics as his research interests.
However, Dr Ogunde, with research interests focusing on Development of New Building Materials and techniques that will enhance Building Production and Construction Management, also had 4 scholarly output, 60 views count, and 1.17 field weighted citation count.
