Covenant’s Scholarly Output in Business, Management, and Accounting Since 2014 Surpasses that of 54 other Nigerian Institutions Combined!
Evidence that the focus on research by the current administration at Covenant University has been a tremendous success has continued to manifest in the excellent positions occupied by the University when ranked with other institutions.
According to a report published by Elsevier's SciVal on Monday, April 27, 2020, the scholarly output of Covenant University in Business, Management, and Accounting since 2014 surpassed that of 54 other Nigerian institutions combined. The list included a mixed crowd of Federal, State, and Private owned institutions in the country.
Covenant was the unrivalled leader in Business, Management, and Accounting with 507 scholarly output, according to the data sourced from Scopus. The University of Nigeria, Nsukka emerged a distant 2nd with 183 scholarly output in the ranking featuring many 1st and 2nd generation universities in Nigeria.
Obafemi Awolowo University with 173 scholarly output, University of Lagos (131), and Pan-Atlantic University (126) occupied the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions respectively. In contrast, the nation's premier tertiary institution, University of Ibadan, with 106 scholarly output, was 6th on the log.
Landmark University, Covenant's sister university, amassed 71 scholarly output to emerge 7th finishing ahead of institutions like the Federal University of Technology, Akure, University of Ilorin, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The performance of Covenant in this ranking is a validation of the progress so far made in her efforts to become one of the top 10 universities in the world in a few years' time.
