Research Interests

His research interests lies in the synthesis, characterisation and potential applications of new materials with a variety of physical, chemical, electrical and magnetic properties. He also has interests in the environment and sustainability. Presently, he is working on the synthesis of layered oxide composite cathode materials for Lithium ion batteries and also understanding their underlying electrochemical mechanisms

Summary of Profile

Dr. EHI-EROMOSELE, Cyril Osereme obtained the B.Sc (Hons.) Industrial Chemistry (Second Class Upper) from the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in 2001 and M.Sc Environmental Chemistry (Distinction) from the University of Lagos in 2010. He obtained the PhD Chemistry from Covenant University, Ota where he also lectures. He is a recipient of the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Georg Foster Postdoctoral Fellowship conducting his research at the Institute of Applied Materials – Energy Storage Systems, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany between 2017-2018. He has been actively involved in research through self-initiation and collaborations and these have led to publications in accredited/peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has given several presentations in both local and international conferences, workshops and seminars. His research interest lies in the application of physical principles and measurements to materials. This includes the synthesis, structural and physical characterization as well as potential applications of new materials with a variety of physical, chemical and magnetic properties. He is presently investigating the synthesis, structural and electrochemical properties of Lithium-rich layered cathode materials for lithium-ion battery. He is a recipient of several awards/grants such as the CALIPSOplus Funding for experiment in ALBA Synchrotron, Spain; the best graduating PhD student of Covenant University in 2015; Visiting Research Award from the International Centre for Material Science (ICMS), Jawarharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India in 2014, etc. He is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN) and the African-German Network of Excellence in Science (AGNES). He has held many junior research/lectureship positions in different institutions. Dr. Ehi-Eromosele is involved with teaching and research supervision at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has also held many administrative positions at Covenant University.
