Summary of Profile

Oyinkepreye D. Orodu is a Professor of Petroleum Engineering and has varied Oil & Gas industry experience spanning field operations in pipeline integrity and academia. Preye holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt; master's in Oil & Gas Engineering, the Robert Gordon University and a doctorate in Oil & Natural Gas Engineering, China University of Geosciences. He had undertaken reservoir studies of oilfields in the Far-East and actively engaged by the World Bank Centre of Excellence in Oilfield Chemicals Research, University of Port Harcourt. He was selected as a participant in the EducationUSA leadership Institutes for Industry-Private Sector Linkages and Innovation: Energy Sector Partnerships in Denver, Colorado for two weeks in 2015. The program was an initiative of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education. His areas of core competence are reservoir engineering and characterisation, reservoir fluid characterization, and petroleum production economics. He has authored/ co-authored over 70 publications with articles in high impact journals; a reviewer for high-impact journals; and has successfully supervised 9 PhD students. Preye is an active researcher and heads a research cluster on Petroleum Reservoir and Production Technology. Prof. Preye is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and also the American Association of Petroleum Geologist (AAPG), and a registered engineer (R.Eng., COREN) in Nigeria.
