Summary of Profile

Samuel Tuesday OWOEYE is the current Director of the Covenant University’s prestigious African Leadership Development Center (ALDC). He graduated with a second class upper division B.A. Degree in French from the University of Ilorin in 1996. After his National Service between 1997 and 1998, he went back to the same University for his Master Degree which he completed in 1999. Having worked as French, English and German teacher in some schools in Lagos He joined Covenant University as a pioneer Faculty in 2002 and as an Assistant Lecturer. He obtained a Ph.D Degree in French in 2013 from Covenant University. Being the first French lecturer in that prestigious university, he put up a B.A French Programme Curriculum that would distinguish the University from other Nigerian Universities. To this end, he introduced Business French, a course not taught as a core course in any other Nigerian University. He has been teaching this course since 2008. Samuel has remained a major resource person for the University’s Total Man Concept (TMC) and Diploma in Leadership Development (DLD) programmes for over fifteen (15) years. He is a sound scholar and widely published both locally and internationally. In 2009, he won a French Government award to spend two weeks in France for an intensive course in French language teaching. Since becoming a Senior Lecturer in 2014, he has been appointed twice as the Head of the Department of Languages and General Studies at Covenant University. He is also the principal presenter of the popular Hebron FM radio programme called Easy French through which he teaches basic everyday French to listeners. Samuel is a passionate teacher of French, a public speaker on life-applicable subjects and leadership. He speaks English, French, and Yoruba fluently and has a working knowledge of German. His knowledge of Computer applications is outstanding and will work with impressive results in any organization, nationally and internationally.
