A senior faculty at Covenant University, Professor Sanjay Misra, has been appointed Section Editor, Recent Advances in Computer Science and Communications, by Bentham Science Publishers.

Bentham Science, in the letter of appointment signed by its Director, Publications, Mahmood Alam, and sent to Professor Misra, expressed pleasure at welcoming him on the Editorial Board of Recent Advances in Computer Science and Communications as the Section Editor for three years.
While stating that Bentham Science was continually striving to improve the quality of its publications, the publishing firm hoped that Professor Misra’s contributions would help in improving the quality of the Review and Research Articles which would contribute to enhancing the Impact Factor of the journal.
Sanjay Misra, a Professor of Computer (Software) Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering of Covenant University, is the Head, Software Engineering, Modelling and Intelligent Systems Research Cluster of the institution.
His research interests include Software Engineering, Web Engineering, Sustainability development Goals, Intelligent Systems, Software quality assurance, Cloud Computing, Software Metrics, Information Engineering, Software Engineering applications, and Web Service/SOA amongst others.
A consummate researcher, Professor Misra had in July 2020 underlined his publishing prowess by becoming the No.1 author in Nigeria by scholarly output, according to SciVal.
The computation by SciVal, featuring the scholarly output of the top 500 authors in Nigeria over the period 2015 to 2020, saw Professor Sanjay emerge tops with 233 scholarly output, 414 citations, and 17 h-index.

Professor Misra, in his reaction to the development, thanked Almighty God for allowing him to serve as Section Editor in the Recent Advances in Computer Science and Communications by Bentham Science. “I am already serving as Editor and Editorial Board member in various journals of Springer, Elsevier, and IGI including several SCIE and Scopus indexed journals, but this is the first journal from Bentham Science. I am happy that now Covenant University is also represented by me in this reputed publisher - Bentham Science,” he enthused.
He stated that Section Editors in Bentham Science were experts in specific areas. As such, he would try to bring his expertise to bear on the academic community in the area of software engineering. Through the new appointment, I will make my beloved University more proud, he added.
He stated that since the maximum number of publications from Covenant University was in the area of Engineering and Computer Science and Recent Advances in Computer Science and Communications covered both areas, his association with the journal would assist Covenant researchers with their publication in the journal.
