Covenant University has recorded another feat in validation of its academic programmes as the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the third time approved all the programmes presented to it by the University for accreditation.
In a letter sent to the Proprietors by the NUC, the apex regulatory body for university education in Nigeria said all the 11 matured programmes presented to it by the University during last November nationwide accreditation evaluation exercise were successful.
The breakdown of the report showed that apart from the high scores recorded by the programmes, the University received full accreditation in its Accounting, Banking & Finance, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Economics, Estate Management, French and Psychology programmes respectively.
Other programmes that received accreditation include Political Science, Mass Communication, Sociology and International Relations.
It should be recalled that the University recorded an unprecedented first time, all-programme accreditation in 2005 when NUC approved all its 16 matured academic programmes and rated it overall best in a nationwide accreditation exercise of that year.
Also in 2006, the three academic programmes put forward by the University for NUC accreditation exercise got full accreditation. The programmes are Policy and Strategic Studies, Management Information System, and Information and Communication Technology.
Apart from the academic accreditations, the University's programmes in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Architecture, Estate Management and Advertising & Public Relations have also gained professional accreditation status from various professional Institutions in Nigeria.
