A team of auditors from the National Universities Commission on procurement process compliance at the Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication Africa Centre of Excellence (CApIC-ACE), domiciled at Covenant University, has commended the transparency mechanism put in place at the Centre.
While applauding the internal mechanism put in place, the team lead on the assessment visit, Mr. Okoye Ifeanacho, advised the University Management and the Centre to ensure compliance with the guidelines and rules stipulated under the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) processes and procedures.
Mr. Okoye extolled the quality of the infrastructure in place at the University, noting that the academic environment could compare with any other around the world. "Since our arrival, I have taken time to walk around this campus, and I must commend the quality of infrastructure that I have seen, and the serenity of the environment will make this place a healthy learning experience for scholars," he enthused.
He thanked the university management for the hospitable way they have been received and for the robust and engaging sessions with the leadership of the centre, as it has helped in understanding their processes and at the same time positioning them for better procurement exercises going forward.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, thanked the team for contributing positively to improving the existing university processes. Professor Adebayo assured them that every suggestion made will be taken to heart in ensuring that the overall operational framework of CApIC-ACE is in line with national and global procurement best practices.
Professor Adebayo appreciated the team's kind words towards the University, noting that there is still more to learn and improve upon for a university that has been around for a little over 20 years.
The meeting had in attendance the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Regina Tobi-David; Director, Financial Services, Pastor Olugbenga Kiki; Director, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Professor Omotayo Osibanjo; CApIC-ACE Centre Director, Professor Ezekiel Adebiyi; Deputy Centre Director, Professor Emeka Iweala; Project Manager, Mr. Jide Ayodele; and other members of the centre.
