Covenant Graduate School's Biochemistry Programmes Bag International Accreditation

The Royal Society of Biology (RSB) has recently conveyed a successful result of its evaluation of Covenant University’s Biochemistry programmes at the Postgraduate level for the Society’s accreditation.

After going through the accreditation process, MSc, M.Phil/Ph.D and Ph.D Biochemistry received a 5-year full accreditation status. Further to this accreditation, the final-year undergraduate students of Biochemistry will receive one year of free membership of the Royal Society of Biology. This network will further serve as a professional leverage for Biochemistry students at the University when applying for jobs.

The RSB Accreditation programme champions excellence in the biosciences by not only identifying degree programmes that offer a high standard of teaching, curriculum provision and practical skill set development, but also those that enhance graduate employability skills.

The Royal Society of Biology is the leading professional body for the Biological Sciences in the United Kingdom. The Society represents over 17,500 biologists from all areas of the life sciences, as well as almost 100 organisations, which make up the diverse landscape of biology in the UK and overseas.

The Royal Society of Biology offers members unique opportunities to engage with the life sciences and share their passion for biology. Biochemistry is the

University's first programme to receive international accreditation.

In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, said while the entire University was enthused for this accomplishment, expectations are high with trust in God that other programmes will follow suit.
