The Covenant University Student Support Programme (CUSSP) recently organized a pre-examination clinic aimed at preparing students for academic success and addressing critical issues affecting their performance. The event, which began with an opening prayer, featured insightful sessions led by distinguished speakers and provided an interactive platform for students to engage directly with the facilitators.
In her opening remarks, the Chairperson of the CUSSP, Professor Mojisola Usikalu, emphasized the uniqueness of Covenant University’s commitment to academic and personal growth. "It is only in Covenant University that students are privileged to have such a platform dedicated to guiding them toward examination success," she remarked.
The program, themed, ‘Family Series and Examination Clinic,’included two key sessions designed to equip students with the tools needed for academic excellence and personal well-being. Professor Adedapo Oluwatayo, Dean of the College of Science and Technology (CST), delivered a presentation on ‘Towards Academic Excellence.’ She emphasized the importance of consistency and diligence; stating that excellence is not just doing great things, but an accumulation of progressively doing the right things.
The second session, facilitated by Dr. Elizabeth Evugi, focused on, ‘The Impact of Drug Abuse on Interpersonal Relationships.’ Dr. Evugi shed light on the detrimental effects of substance abuse, urging students to make informed choices that safeguard both their academic journey and personal relationships.
A highlight of the clinic was the interactive question-and-answer session, where students had the opportunity to seek advice and gain clarity on topics discussed. The event concluded with the presentation of gifts to the guest speakers in appreciation of their valuable contributions.
The pre-examination clinic underscored Covenant University’s holistic approach to education, combining academic support with personal development to ensure students are well-prepared to excel both within and beyond the classroom.
