Skyline University of Nigeria Seeks Collaboration with Covenant University

The Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria, Kano, Professor Ajith Kumar V.V., has appreciated the management of Covenant University for the privilege to learn from her the operational framework of managing an institution of the magnitude of Covenant.

Professor Kumar, who came on a one-day working visit, said it has been a unique learning experience for him, as he has seen the research aspect of the University and possible areas of collaboration between both universities.

He noted that the framework for running Covenant University Centre for Open Distance eLearning is one that his University will like to adopt, as it will help point them in the right direction when it is time for Skyline University to commence distance learning operations.

Professor Kumar, who came with the Head, Corporate Affairs Office of the University, Mr. Umar Farouk Isamail said he was impressed by Covenant’s postgraduate development programme, noting that it will serve as a building template for his own institution. According to him, Skyline University, being a young institution, is willing to send other management team members to Covenant University towards learning her processes and adopting best practices that will aid the institution in this development stage.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, commended Professor Kumar for his passion in the quest to learn how things are done with excellence being the end goal.

Professor Adebayo said from the move of the leadership of the university, there is no doubt that Skyline University has what it takes to become another Covenant University in the nation’s education landscape, as it is important that they keep improving on their current processes.

He said the doors of Covenant are open to the management team of Skyline University for interaction and collaborations with a view to upscaling the relationship. "Let us see how we can formalise this relationship to engender collaboration in all areas where we have a common interest," Professor Adebayo added.
