The Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Regents, Covenant University, Bishop David Oyedepo has stressed that the institution places more importance on its core-values than its academic curriculum.

As part of the 5-year cycle of accreditation of programmes in Nigerian universities, two sets of accreditors from the National Universities Commission (NUC) are at Covenant University for the accreditation of the Computer Science programme and Civil Engineering.

A team of accreditors from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on an accreditation visit to the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Management Information Systems of Covenant University have indicated their resolve to work with the Management of the University to reposition the programmes for greater impact.

After two days of scrutiny and verification exercise at the Department of Biological Science, a 3-man team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) heaped plaudits on the leadership of the department and management of the University for doing what was necessary to put the programme on a sound footing.

A delegation from the National Universities Commission on an accreditation visit to the Department of Languages, Covenant University has commended the department and university's leadership for putting the programme on a sound footing towards delivering maximally for students and researchers in the department.

The National Universities Commission accreditation team led by Professor Osita Meludu has commended the department and university management for quality investment in the programme, noting the team was impressed with a clear-cut and well-crafted programme philosophy and objectives after 48 hours of comprehensive scrutiny of the academic and resource available in the Department of Physics.
