Covenant University has announced the appointment of a new Student Council for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The ceremony, which took place on the 29^th of October 2024, during the Tuesday Chapel Service, saw the Dean of Students Affairs, Mrs. Shola Coker, announcing the names of the newly appointed leaders on behalf of the University Management.

Covenant University continues to distinguish herself through the exemplary achievements of her students, as shown during the University’s Chapel Service on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, when Mr. Anthony Ibe-Egechi, a 500-level student from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering (ICE), was recognised by the Vice-Chancellor for his outstanding performance during his six-month Industrial Training (IT), with Finance Application Systems Limited (FASYL).

Covenant University recently hosted the 3rd International Conference on Innovation and Sustainable Development, drawing together a diverse assembly of scholars, industry leaders, and policymakers. The conference, themed, ‘The Future of Work, Resilience, and Sustainability,’ took place at the Covenant University Center for Research, Innovative, and Discovery (CUCRID) and addressed critical transformations shaping the work landscape, amid global challenges.

Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication Africa Centre of Excellence (CApIC-ACE) hosted by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State has partnered with Beulah World Initiative and  Prostrate Cancer Transatlantic Consortium (CApTC) on Breast Cancer awareness and free screening for Ota Community in Ogun State, with the theme, ‘Early Detection Saves Lives!’

The Covenant University Enactus team recently visited the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, to present two awards, the first was for coming third place at the Access Coronation Trust Fund (ACT Fund) competition, and the second was a Semi-Finalist Award from last year’s Enactus Nationals.

Covenant University is celebrating the remarkable achievement of Miss Christianah Temitope Adeboye, who has won the prestigious Gold medal in the Commonwealth Essay Competition. This victory marks a significant milestone for the young scholar, who initially viewed winning the competition as an unattainable dream. However, inspired by the success fellow student who secured a silver medal last year, Christianah was motivated to give it another try.

Stakeholders have called for increased sensitization on early diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, one of the deadly cancers among men, especially in Nigeria and other parts of Sub-Saharan Africa; as part of activities marking the 2024 World Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
